Sonnet 2: Mechanical Rule

Infinite promise of a starless sky
The blank tapestry could swallow you whole
The echoing void as it whispers by
Tendrils clasped upon a reverent soul

A sole glimpse of the moonlight that I stole
Captured me in rhapsody never seen
Collapsed in the guise of complete control
Within the ashes of these evergreens

The steel embrace of a watchful machine
Returns me to my diligent labour
My departure from this nocturnal scene
To the barren wasted empty acres

Dystopia mourns the land's ravaged scars
But what hurts the most is they took our stars
